Home Office Set-Up 💻
We have always had some sort of home office set-up, whether that be an entire room, or a side space within a room. When we built our house 5 years ago, we didn’t allocate a space for an adult office. We have a desk nook for the kids right outside of their rooms, but it isn’t conducive to actually getting work done for an adult. 😂
Some of you may not be aware, but I’m a stylist and salon owner, and have always had a salon space in the house for family and friends. When I opened the new salon last year, I was just over doing people at home. I don’t like the room being full of hair, I didnt like having to bring my supplies home from the salon, I haaaaaate the shampoo bowl at home, and it’s just not a peaceful experience (#kids 😂).
When I reached all of those conclusions, I went out and bought a desk and chair and vowed to make it my office space. I have tons of planner supplies, note pads, pens, etc. Plus, I have work documents and licensing documents that I need to keep handy for when they’re up for renewal. I had the perfect little space set up in my head. Totally ready to make it all happen.
Cue Covid-19.

So instead of me getting my sweet little office space, my husband came in and took over my get away spot. Not only did he move all of his work stuff in, he also got sick and basically locked himself in there daily to work. So once quarantine was over, I felt like his sick germs were everywhere. I could pretty much see them with my eyes. 😅
So I shut the door, and left it alone for a month.
But here we are. Planners need to return to functioning, schedules are overflowing, work posts are being neglected, and my stuff is EVERYWHERE.
I knew I needed a desk that was wide enough to have my iPad and keyboard, plus my planners and paperwork on top. But I also wanted drawers for pens, stickers, etc. What I didn’t know I needed was a desk that plugs into the wall so all of your cords are hidden in a secret compartment (thanks Target for always knowing what I need more than I do 🤣).
So here’s my little office space, complete with everything on my list, including natural light. Because no one wants to work in a dungeon. 🙌🏼
